Linda Ronnie is Associate Professor in Organisational Behaviour and People Management at the University of Cape Town where she holds the position as Dean of Commerce. She holds a PhD (UCT), Master in Education (Sheffield) and a MSc in Applied Psychology (Liverpool). Her research and teaching focus on a wide range of people management topics including organisational culture, recruitment and selection, motivation and teamwork, labour relations, and managing change.
Employee engagement is of increasing importance to organisations. An employee’s positive psychological state of motivation is seen to increase organisational productivity, promote innovation, and improve efficiency. This presentation looks at the factors that influence employee engagement and provides practical ways for employers to encourage a mutually beneficial employee-employer relationship.
