Jacqui Stewart

Jacqui is CEO of the Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa (COHSASA). She has worked in the public and private health care sectors in South Africa and England. Having qualified as a registered nurse in Cape Town she went on to specialise in Cardio-Thoracic nursing in England. She ran the Transplant Unit at Harefield Hospital for five years. From there Jacqui moved into a variety of managerial roles in the National Health Service at district and regional level, including quality improvement, planning and organisational development. She was the Director of Career Development and Succession Planning at the NHS Modernisation Agency, Leadership Centre. She was appointed CEO in April 2016. Jacqui returned to South Africa in 2005 to join COHSASA as Chief Operations Manager. She has completed her Masters in Professional Studies (Health) with Middlesex University, London. Her passions are healthcare quality and leadership.

Measuring and benchmarking Quality Standards in frail care units

The CEO of Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa (COHSASA) will share their insights on how to develop standards for frail care services and methods of implementing standards.  She will also discuss approaches to quality improvement to ensure that the improvement is sustainable.  Benchmarking and the benefit of accreditation will also be discussed.
